I think normality is boring. Normality just screams out “already existed”, un-original, YaWN..
To be a success in the creative industry, one must first enable him or herself to reach to the extent of craziness through mentality and physicality.
When your peers or employers say you’re insane then be even more insane with your ideas.
I think as a designer or as a creative person in general, you have to be hungry for inspiration and innovation. You will always want to create and you will always want to imagine a surreal world where shoes or garments or bags can practically be anything than its normal function. If you can see beyond the natural into the unnatural then you know how to play with your thought process. This is what makes any creative person amazing. Don’t let it challenge you, let it overcome you and become your own invention.
New fashion statement I am making. Let it be punk 80s rock style with combat boots with studs or underground creepers. What do you all think? Aye or nay?

A few month ago this was the first time I created a heel from 2D to 3D at my own desire. It’s simple but as a student who is still finding the simplest things beautiful it was exciting :)
In life no matter how old you are or where you are, people can be mean and abusive whether its in your face or behind your back.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you what to do with your life. Don’t ever hesitate or question your beliefs and morals. Don’t ever be out down. I strongly believe that it doesn’t matter what your background is or how hard life is treating you, the more you dream and dream and dream fate will grant you that dream.
You are perfect. You are strong. You are talented. You are powerful. You are influential. You are loved. You are admired. You are you. Forever.
You know, when someone hears that I was originally born in South Africa, Cape Town, they look at in shock, astonishment and disbelief. Why? Because my native country is Korea. I grew up in this little city with vast nature reserves, vibrancy in color, enriched with various people of color and the most magnificent fresh landscape that anyone could come across!
Sure, Cape Town was for people who enjoyed living life in the most relaxed way ever, but for me it just was not enough to keep me satisfied. I attended one of South Africa’s elite private schools, but I was not elite myself. Definitely not. I was the asian girl doing all the wrong things - hungry for creativity, hungry for invention and inspiration and not for academics like Maths nor Science.
Every night during my teen years I would look out the window and stare at the vast dark skies that sparkled with glowing dots and say “One day I’m going to fly away and get out of this boring hell hole”.
And I finally did. After I finished my senior years, I flew straight to Italy to undergo my love of Fashion. Finishing a short course, I then went on to do a Foundations at the University of Arts London in the UK, and it was a whole new world.
Everyone was the same - we thought creatively, we expressed ourselves through the use of art and design and we were constantly playing with questions of “What if..?” I felt at home. This was definitely the right journey as I was able to really define my future pathway in careers and define what I really wanted to do.
My personal tutor who was like a mentor and friend, took my fate and destiny into his hand. He took a pound coin, flipped it and fell onto heads, twice. The sign? The sign was that I was meant for Footwear. I took a leap of faith and applied to London College of Fashion as a future footwear designer student.
Ever since then, I am loving every moment of it. I don’t regret the journey or what ever i had experienced in the path. There is always a meaning, a purpose for each individual on this earth whether you are a creative or non creative being.
